He's not a bad loser, just a disappointed fan. I hope they do well in the UEFA Cup, their support seemed pretty decent (and not full of racists like Sporting's last season).
We will still celebrate, football is full of bad decisions... you win some, you lose some!

But may you forever live on the shame of having that inexistent penalty against Goteborg, than a forgiven penalty (that even your coach admitted) in Guimarães, and now our more than legal goal, which was disallowed in a unbelievable way!

we suffered of big referee errors in the past few years and we somehow see
this as a "compensation" of those hard months. (Really not joking, ask the
others here (except the dumb pple from Berne who make us down in this
thread).
On the other hand, see it from the other side! You had a home game before
and you would have had a chance in this duel if you had scored at home! But
you played kinda harmless football, also in Basel. From my point of view, you
didn't have one good chance except the penalty and the goal!
Watch the game again and then see how many chances we had! The only
real danger came from you between minutes 70 and 85, when you knew you
had to make more pressure. But even then: all I could see was high balls into
the penalty area, no real good playing, just lucky-punch searching...
BTW:
I still think our biggest advantage was the early start of the season - bad
luck for you.
absolutely right. and the penalty was kinda lucky too. not really a good chance to make a goal in that situation and marque was watching the ball and unfortunately hit the guimares-player. would have been a joke if guimares had reached the CL with this. over the two games, basel was far better, more offensive and had a lot more chances.
so don`t argue with this one situation or ask for more penalties because of questionable handsplay. basel was better.

Always remember when you "celebrate" this:
do you know WAYNE???
if yes, please tell him your story!!

If Standard Liege had one decent striker they would have battered us over the two legs, they were by far the better team over the two legs and we were very very lucky.

Roll on the draw tomorrow.
Yeah we could come back for another singing lesson - seems even the Standard Liege fans were coming to Anfield to celebrate a "you only sing when you're winning".

Anyway, happy you went through. Was just quite impressed with their vocal support and can understand you guys did not feel like singing with this kind of performance.
