The English FC Basel thread

This thread is for the international FC Basel fans or fans from other teams that soon will play against Basel and want to discuss the event with Basel fans in English. There is no particular topic you should talk about in this thread, except Basel or the game, just join the conversation or start one.
Some basic instructions that should help you with creating an account:
register (Registrieren) an account, you will be linked to a window saying "Unsere Regeln" this means our rules, the rules are basic (no violence, no sexual content or violating the laws), accept them by ticking the box and pressing "Registrieren".
Enter your Username (Benutzername) and a password (Kennwort). In the two boxes under those enter a valid email twice.
A random question will be asked:
In welchem Jahr wurde der FC Basel gegründet: founding year.
Wie heisst die Fankurve des FC Basels: the name of the fan curve.
it should mostly be one of those two questions, not sure if there are more. Just reload the page if it shows a different question.
Under that box you can enter your source from where you got the idea to register for the forum (blog, Twitter or an user in this forum).
"Zeitzone" means timezone, just enter your timezone, the cities will help you to find your timezone.
"Sommerzeit automatisch erkennen" means, register summer time automatically, just leave that box the way it is.
"Emails erhalten" means receive emails, leave the boxes the way there are. After that press "Registrierung abschicken", you will receive an email, press the link in the email and your account is finished, you can start posting.

sooo guys lets put it this way....you will not experience anything similar to FC BASEL in the UK. You may have big name clubs with big name players who are finances with big name money, but not at FCB. The city of Basel may be on the map due to Novartis, Basel Tattoo or Basel Word, however Basel should be on the map for the fact that this city breathes FCB!
When have you seen the supporters of a Premier League club, vocally support their team for 90 min (home & away, every game)? Where do you feel this level of passion? No Where! This is what Basel is about, young or old.
There is currently a thread on the forum disussing how you feel about fans supporting FCB from other cities. What is that all about? So, certain people believe that you should support your local team.... are you telling me that I must support ManU or ManCity as I was born in Manchester...........no not at all. Moved to Basel in 1989, feel like a Basler, act like a Basler... there is only one club and thats FCB.... therefore if you feel the passion for a club thats who you support... support or passion is not stopped by Kantons, Cities or countries...It comes from the heart....

Support the team you want to, I don't see the point of being forced into a team if you don't like it. As long as you support your team in good and bad times you can do whatever you want to, just don't be a glory hunter.

Thats what i feel.
Watching the game tonight? Hope to see Park play from the beginning as he is under-valued. However we need to see Diaz and Yapi harmonizing a bit more. We are missing the Xhaka effect.
Dissapointing that Degen is injured again, how predictable.....(fed up with his constant injuries)
The defense was the shables against Luzern, I cannot see us winning the league or qualifying for CL as we stand at the moment..."Things can only get better"
I reckon a 2:1 or a 3:2----- not that optimistic as we tend to expect too much.. several key players have gone and the new guys still need integrate a bit more...

Yapi has to step back a little and let Diaz do the build up of the game. In the defense I think Voser should get a chance, Park really needs a break.
Yes it's a shame that Degen is injured again, but it really was predictable. He was nearly 8 months without injury, a new record?
I guess the score will be 3-0, perhaps 4 or 5-0 if Basel get's their shit together.

Yeah... its not like an English thread is needed, but it does open doors to fans who may not speak German or Baseldüütsch... why not make the FCB Forum more accessible to others...
